Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This policy explains how personal data is used in connection with the Team Nijhof × Waaij Stud Auction and this website.

1. WHO TO CONTACT

The Auction is organised by Team Nijhof, Kulsdom 9, 7274 EG Geesteren, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 76925595. For questions about your personal data or to exercise your rights, contact info@team-nijhof.com.

2. PERSONAL DATA

When you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number and correspondence. If you register to bid or purchase a horse, the data needed to administer your participation and purchase includes your contact and account details, bids, purchase details and invoicing information.

3. WHY WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your data to answer enquiries, arrange viewings, administer bidder registration and bidding, and handle purchases, invoices and delivery. Processing necessary to prepare or perform an agreement is based on that agreement. We also process information where required by law, including accounting obligations.

We have a legitimate interest in handling enquiries and keeping the Auction and its systems secure. Where processing requires your consent, including optional marketing or tracking, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out lawfully before that point.

4. SHARING DATA

Information needed to run the Auction may be processed by our website and bidding provider, Pweb Solutions, and shared with the seller, accountants, payment service providers, transporters or other professional advisers where necessary to handle a purchase. Authorities may receive information where required by law.

If you contact Waaij Stud directly, it processes that correspondence in connection with your enquiry. See Waaij Stud’s privacy policy for its own services.

5. HOW LONG DATA IS KEPT

Personal data is retained for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including completing your enquiry or purchase, maintaining required business records and handling any related claims. Statutory retention requirements may prevent immediate deletion. Contact us for information about the retention period applicable to your records.

6. COOKIES AND EXTERNAL SERVICES

Website and account functions can require technical cookies, for example to maintain a login session. You can manage or remove cookies in your browser; doing so may affect these functions. Optional cookies and tracking are subject to the applicable consent requirements.

Links to third-party services, including YouTube videos and externally hosted horse documents, lead to services with their own privacy policies. Consult those policies before using the service. Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area; their policies describe the safeguards applicable to that processing.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

Subject to the conditions in data protection law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or data portability. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.

Send your request to info@team-nijhof.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and will respond within one month, or inform you if a lawful extension is necessary. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

8. UPDATES

We may update this policy when the Auction’s services or data processing change. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
