Team Nijhof and Waaij Stud are joining forces for the first Team Nijhof × Waaij Stud — 3yo Auction. The new live auction takes place at Waaij Stud in Eemnes on Friday 16 October 2026. The collection features more than thirty three-and-a-half-year-old showjumpers, all raised at Team Nijhof and including many bred by the stud. The horses will be loose-jumped as they are auctioned. Having worked together in breeding, trading and training for several years, the two businesses decided this spring to stage a joint auction. The collection is now online.

“Cameron Nijhof approached me and asked whether we could join forces,” says Jasper van der Waaij. “We thought it was a great idea: plenty of good horses from our own youngstock, with an honest story behind them.” The horses have been raised at Team Nijhof, whose team knows their development first-hand. Waaij Stud brings its experience of running live auctions.

Selected from around 150 young horses

The collection was drawn from a group of around 150 horses. This spring, Team Nijhof assessed their loose jumping, pedigrees, type and X-rays. After a summer at grass, the selection was refined. At three and a half, these horses are ready to begin the next stage of their education.

“We want to get this first edition off to a flying start,” says Jasper. “They are rough diamonds.”

For Cameron Nijhof, the individual horse and its development matter too. The team knows the horses through their upbringing and preparation: their temperaments, their first experiences of training and the progress they have made. “It is also about what a horse is really like,” Cameron explains. Prospective buyers can speak directly to the team for that background.

Total Touch TN · Carambole

A half-brother to Jackpot TN and Tattoo TN’s first crop

Among Cameron’s picks is Total Touch TN, a son of Carambole out of the same dam as Jackpot TN. The licensed stallion competed at this year’s World Championships in Aachen with Valeria Sokolova. The same mare also produced No Nonsense TN (1.60m) and Let’s Win TN (1.55m).

“A very complete horse, a lovely type, who moves well and has plenty of ability for the future,” is Cameron’s assessment of Total Touch TN.

The collection also includes several horses from Tattoo TN’s first crop. Ridden by Willem Greve, Tattoo TN recently finished fifth in the seven-year-old final at the World Championships in Lanaken. Cameron describes his offspring as well-rounded, willing and trainable, with plenty of scope. They include True Magic TN, Tarantino L Z, Take a Change TN and Terminator. True Magic TN belongs to the damline of the 1.60m jumpers Gylord and Zitaco M; Terminator’s dam produced, among others, Squirt Gun (1.60m).

The Contagio mare The Best TN has also caught Cameron’s eye: “A lovely, powerful mare who moves strongly and jumps very convincingly.” Her granddam produced Krambamboulie (1.50m) and Leonardo (1.40m).

Loose jumping in the auction ring

The horses will be loose-jumped while bidding takes place, giving visitors the opportunity to assess their jumping and their response to the surroundings and the crowd.

“Here you can see the horses live, experience them first-hand and really get to know a horse,” says Jasper.

Visitors are welcome from 18:00 to view the horses in the stables. A vet will be present to discuss the veterinary reports. The reports are also available online for buyers to review with their own vet beforehand. The auction starts at 19:00, with online bidding available too.
